To “walk in the Spirit”, to live this life in the Spirit daily as God’s Word says, Galatians 5:25, means to have the Power of the Holy Spirit working on our behalf at all times as faith is anchored in Christ and the Cross
We that profess to be Christians need to understand the Cross was not only the means by which salvation was afforded to them, but also that which affords them victory in one’s everyday walk, everyday living before God to overcome the world, the flesh, and the Devil daily. Everything we as believers, as Christians comes through what Christ accomplished, John 3:17.
There is nothing else in this world that gives the Christian victory over sin, bondage, sickness, Satan and all His evilness, in every conceivable way to have a overcoming life, but what Jesus has afforded, has accomplished for all that are by faith anchored in the Cross.
Christians, Believers, all who say they preach the Gospel of Christ, must understand it was the sacrifice of Christ at Calvary, the offering up of His sinless, spotless body as a sin offering that makes it possible for us to receive what is needed from God to live in the Spirit. The sacrifice of Christ on the Cross is the only premise, way, means, from which the Holy Spirit works in the life of the one who proclaims they are a Christian, a believer in Christ, Romans 8:2, 1 Corinthians 1:17-18, 2:2, Colossians 2:10-15. Faith in the Cross of Christ is required, is demanded by God at all times, meaning we as Christians are to be anchored by faith in that which Christ accomplished at Calvary’s Cross and nothing else. I am not speaking of some wooden beams, but rather the price Christ paid through His Death. That’s why God’s Word tells all believers, all Christians, all who preach from the pulpits, the platforms, the streets, that we are to be determined not to know any answer than Christ crucified for the problems, situations, and the circumstances of this world, as God’s Word say’s,”For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and Him crucified.”, 1 Corinthians 2:2. Christians can know no unity outside of the Cross, that is God’s Word not mans.
It is the Crucified, Risen, Righteous, Reigning, Christ that has provided everything for the Christian, the believer, and which the Holy Spirit works and operates in our hearts and lives.
It’s that Holy Spirit Power that enables the believer, the Christian, to live a godly life that which is provided to the believer through the finished work at Calvary and our everyday faith anchored in that work. We are to understand that the efficacious work of Christ is to be brought into the way we live daily, Luke 9:23. There must be a confidence, a faith, a trust, that which Christ accomplished is done, finished, and the believer, the Christian, is depending on that work right now, this second for our victory, which opens the door for God, the Holy Spirit to operate, to function, as He desires in our lives.
Our faith is to be anchored in the Cross, that’s where our price was paid and the grip of sin broken. Faith in the Word of God is what we’re supposed to have, but we are to understand that the Word of God is anchored in the Cross. If the Cross is removed from the Word of God, then it’s no longer His Word, but another gospel that has no salvation or victory, 2 Corinthians 11:4, Galatians 1:6-9.
