“The Power to serve”

All believers, all Christians, all that are saved, need to baptized with the Holy Spirit, which is always accompanied by the Believer speaking with other tongues as the Holy Spirit gives the utterance ( Acts 2:4; 8:14-17; 10:44-46; 19:1-7 ).

The Baptism with the Holy Spirit is so necessary for service, to accomplish that which the Lord has specifically called each believer to do, that Jesus told His Disciples (followers) just before His Ascension, that they should not go testify about Him, preach the Gospel or do anything until they were first baptized with the Holy Spirit. God’s Word states this was a command, not a suggestion, “And, being assembled together with them, Commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the Promise of the Father, which, saith He, ye have heard of Me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto Me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”, Acts 1:4-5,8 ✝️

It took me a number of years before I yielded, got self out of the way so Christ would fill me. And the night I was filled at New Beginnings, Church of God in Baker Louisiana I spoke in tongues for three days and every time I would get in my old Bronco to go to work I’d end up in Grangeville Louisiana as I worked at LSU and was living in Pride Louisiana at the time. I thank the Lord for saving me and setting me free but I would never not want to have the gift that Jesus has given me, my Baptism in the Holy Spirit.

Jesus would not have commanded for us as believers, as Christians, to be filled if we didn’t need this gift, this power from Him to serve.

It is always those who haven’t yielded their flesh and have listened to others saying it’s of the Devil, or to draw attention to one’s self. It is always some person that says they are a believer, but they don’t need that Baptism with the Holy Ghost and fire. The bottom line is God say’s if your His disciple you need it. That is only those who are not filled that are saying you don’t need it. Again, who are you listening to, or who are you going to obey, God or man?
