As a Christian, a believer we must ever understand that the crucifixion of Christ, the death of Christ on the Cross, does not merely represent a doctrine, but it is the foundation of all doctrines. Any doctrine that does not have Christ’s finished work as its foundation is not biblical. God’s Word states, “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the Precious Blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,”, 1 Peter 1:18-20.
God’s Word states, ”For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”, John 3:16, and then states, ”And He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”, 1 John 2:2.
God’s Word puts the entire world on notice that in the eyes of God there are only two types of people in this world, those that are saved by faith in Christ and that which He alone accomplished through His finished work at Calvary’s Cross and those not saved. The unsaved, those who have their faith in something other than that which Christ accomplished, in effect have actually chosen to have faith in themselves, the creation, the creature, and have chosen to actually reject Christ, and more specifically to reject Christ and Him crucified.
There is only One Saviour of this world and that is the Lord Jesus Christ.
God’s Word states, ”Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are of God, Who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the Ministry of Reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the Word of Reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. For He hath made Him to be sin for us, Who knew no sin; that we might be made the Righteousness of God in Him.”, 2 Corinthians 5:17-21.
Presently there are millions that confess Jesus is the Son of God, but that doesn’t mean they are saved, even though they say they are. They have given a mental assertion of accepting Christ but have never really repented for their sins and accepted Who Christ is and what He alone accomplished through His death to remove our penalty of death for the Law of God we all have spurned. In other words they have never really accepted Christ in their heart.
When a person accepts the Lord there is a change in that persons life that is evident to all, it will be obvious that person has been born again. One must surrender one’s life totally, completely, and understand that Christ alone is Saviour, that one doesn’t trust in their self or any other man. In this surrender, this yielding to Christ, one is born again. This specific surrender, that through this narrow way, faith, belief from the heart, is one born again, that one must be sold out to Christ for their every need, in every situation and circumstance without reservation until Christ takes them Home. As God’s Word states, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto Righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto Salvation.”, Romans 10:9-10, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the Mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”, Romans 12:1-2, “For godly sorrow worketh Repentance to Salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.”, 2 Corinthians 7:10, and “But if we walk in the Light, as He is in the Light, we have fellowship one with another, and the Blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the Truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”, 1 John 1:7-9.
It is the Blood of the Cross, the Blood of Jesus Christ that can only “cleanseth us from all sin”.
As Christians we must confess our sin, repent of our sin, Luke 13:3,5 and as God’s Word states the Lord is faithful to forgive us because He loves us and wants none to perish.
One either has faith, has the love of Christ in them because of Who Christ is and that which He alone accomplished by His sacrifice, His death on Calvary’s Cross or they don’t. There is no grey area, there is no straddling the fence, there is no drinking of both cups. A Christians faith is never to be in that which God has created or this world for anything, anyway, or anyhow. As a Christian, a believer, as one anchors their faith in Christ and His finished work because that is the only narrow way that gives liberty to the Holy Spirit to work in people to accomplish that which needs to be done, to accomplish the Will of God, God’s Will, in whatever the situation is, Romans 8:1-2. In other words we trust that the Holy Spirit will work in ones life and through ones life, as one’s faith is anchored in Christ. We can never trust people to do what is right because they don’t know how to do right unless their faith is anchored in Christ alone. People can’t and won’t do right when their faith is in the wrong place. Meaning a person with a misplaced faith is under the influence of the world, the flesh, and the Devil .
Again there are only two types of people in this world according to God’s Word, the saved and the unsaved. The unsaved have their faith anchored in everything but the way God can save them and work mightily in their lives and those that are saved love God, having their faith, their heart, mind, and soul anchored in Jesus Christ and Him Crucified, 1 Corinthians 2:2 .
